The BIG 'Story of King Rik' Character Summary (
) - Gamaker
If the amount of characters introduced so far has made your head spin; FEAR NOT! I have decided to make this character summary for the sole purpose of aiding those with a smaller capacity for name storage. In short: Reading for dummies (and dyslexic). If you however do not feel like this description suits you, feel free to occasionally look up a name or two. I will update whenever the story continues, so none of the characters appearing will be left out.
The protagonist:
David: He is a gentle and kind person who almost never thinks wrongly of other people. He is a bit na?ve, at least that?s what he himself believes. We all know his naivety knows no bounds, but that is why we all Love him. He is the narrator of the story and because he once broke his long-term-memory-bone most of the details are a bit vague or absent. This leaves a lot to ones imagination, which is a good thing seeing that kids nowadays seem to have almost no chance of letting their imagination run free.
Job: After arriving at the castle he received the utterly vague job of assistant. What this means for his future only the king knows.
Inside the castle:
Fifth Floor:
King Rik: Rik is an eccentric, cheerful, fickle and cuddly man. As king he is all powerful, but good to his subjects and widely respected. He looks like any other man on his day off, but when needed he will act as a strict king and do it with flair too.
Job: He is the king, deal with it.
Marinel: She is the Queen of the castle and has pretty much nothing to do at all. Even her job description is just ?Look pretty and wave?. Beside that she looks really nice, but hasn?t done much in the story so far.
Job: She is the queen... Smile.
Carmen: Carmen is a gentle, nice, calm en quiet sort of person. She has a soft spot for everything Japanese, which is quite obvious if you?ve ever seen her room.
Job: The royal chambermaid and, job mostly consists of keeping the queen company and doing random jobs for her.
Fourth Floor:
Stephan: Mostly addressed as ?the Advisor?, except of course when he is in the kitchen. He is a strange, fickle, forgetful and cheerful small man. He is mostly everywhere and nowhere, except just before dinnertime. Then he?ll definitely be found in the kitchen.
Job: Stephan is the king?s personal advisor and the kitchen princess. Most decisions made have gone past him first. He advices the king in almost everything and cooks the most delicious meals too.
Quincey: Quincey is an annoying, strange and difficult person to deal with. At least that is how David sees him and we have seen so far.
Job: The Royal Jester, his job is to entertain and make people laugh. But mostly he enjoys himself and laughs at others.
Willem: Willem is a grumpy, very tall man. But this could be only because we met him just after somebody shat on him.
Job: General of the Royal Army, he has to be ready 24/7 to wage war on whoever the king orders him to.
Saskia (though Stephan calls her Saksia): As we have only seen her room door so far we have no idea who she is.
Job: She is the royal book report maker. She makes summaries of everything readable.
Third Floor:
Luuk: He is also unknown so far. We only caught a glimpse of his room.
Job: Fashion Designer, he designs fashion. At least that is what is to be expected of him.
Floor Unknown:
Lex: A nice guy. There are still a few question marks concerning his job, but other than that he seems like a good guy.
Job: The Royal doormat, he lays down in front of the door whenever somebody import enters.
Tessa: Tessa is a very serious and businesslike looking woman. But David has only met her during her work.
Job: The Royal Linguist, she checks everything anyone writes in the castle. Because most people in the castle are dyslexic, this is a fairly important job.
Sneek: He is a grumpy, bitter, sarcastic and enjoyable man. He sounds like an old fart, but is in fact rather young. He complains a lot about everyone and everything, but it is clear he possesses a lot of love.
Job: Sneek is the Royal Alchemist, whatever he is doing, it?s a secret. Every once so often he comes up with a secret formula of some sort, shows it to the king and goes back to whatever it is he does.
Rodrigo: He is an obnoxious, sneaky, arrogant and deceitful mexican. Our protagonist especially bears a grudge against him, but this is mostly because of his own fault.
Job: The Royal Thief and Speaker of the Castle, he steals anything he likes and keeps it in his room until the original owner comes to get it back. He also holds speeches on account of the king on special occasions and when necessary.
Niels: We don't know much of him, except that his nickname is Sheep and that he is pretty strangely dressed.
Job: The Shepherd, it seems there is only one shepherd in the whole kingdom and that it is him. He also seems to have another job inside castle, but that is still unknown.
Sanja: Looks pretty ignorant, na?ve and straightforward, but means well. Other than that, very little is known about her.
Job: Receptionist of the castle, it is her job to know what everyone is doing and when. She also seems to conduct other administrative-like business.
Ivar: Little is known about him except for the fact that he looks like the frontman of a heavy metalband.
Job: He is the Royal Knight, who goes on quests for some strange objects.
Roos: She is a sweet and calm little girl. Or at least so it seems. It turns out that she is the same age as the king.
Job: Hostess of the castle and Royal remote control wielder, her official task is being some kind of host at the castle, but she mainly serves just the king.
Jeroen: The most idiotic, imbecilic, incapable and stupid person so far. He seems to be unable to give a sane response. He turns up almost randomly and seems to keep things in the weirdest places.
Job: The locksmith of the Castle, to put it in his words: "I put locks on doors, windows, cats, chests, walls, trees, ears, chairs, scissors, leprechauns and even put locks on locks I locked.".
Outside the Castle:
Jaron: Jaron is a quiet and reserved man who chose a solitary life before the crazy existence at the castle. (Who can blame him?) He protects both countries out of charity and love for his computers.
Job: Administrator of the wireless network of- and distributor of information to The Kingdom of King Rik and The Land of President Arvidius.
President Arvidius: A wicked and ignorant man... Or I would say if we knew anything about him.
Job: He is a president... whatever that means.
